Cryptocurrency Exchanges
This section focuses on reviews of centralised cryptocurrency exchanges such as
- Bitfinex
- Bithumb
- Bitstamp
- Bittrex
- Coinbase
- Gemini
- Huobi
- Kraken
- Kucoin
- OKEx
- Poloniex
Not all exchanges trade all cryptocurrencies of course (the Ripple cryptocurrency was thrown off many exchanges following their run in with the SEC for example), and they all have their strengths and weaknesses.
Binance holds the number 1 spot, but it can be an intimidating place for the less experienced. Coinbase is very user-friendly, but the fees are higher, and so on. But if you are interested in some of the newer coins, you’ll need to trade at somewhere like Binance as exchanges like Gemini, Coinbase and Kraken tend to be more selective in their listings. Check out our “What is Tokocrypto?” article for an example of the kinds of tokens you can buy at Binance.
Coinbase and Gemini are probably the most user friendly of the exchanges if you are new to crypto trading. They make it easy to buy spot with dollars, euros or other FIAT currencies for that matter. Coinbase also has a Pro version for more experienced traders (Kraken does something similar with their trading apps).
